Get to Know Jeny Chavez:
In a Nut Shell...
Full Name: Jenifer Estefania Chavez
DOB:02/19/1996
Place of Birth: Nezahualcoyotl, Mexico
Age:18
On a cold winter morning, the trees dripped of crystal clear dew, and the momma birds cuddled tightly with their babies transferring their heat to keep them warm. The sun was still tucked away underneath the shadow of the night, while the fog crept in between the copious amount of trees. Nature was at peace with each other, living harmonious in a beautiful vicinity. No obstructions. No loud car noises--just peace.
Then in a matter of moments, that harmony was disrupted by a piercing cry. The cry carried on for miles and miles of land. The origin of the cry came from a diminutive, pale little human being. The distressed parents looked at the little being and smiled. They decided to name her Jenifer Estefania Chavez Ramirez.
Teleport eighteen years into the future and we are in the year 2014. I am currently a Senior in Mark Keppel High School. As a child, I simply enjoyed my days of innocence- playing soccer, swimming, riding my bike, playing with my Barbies, roller blading, dancing, and playing with my friends in our imaginary distant lands. I was a very happy little girl. As I grew older, I had to take on more responsibilities; therefore, I had to abandon a lot of the things I enjoyed doing. However, soccer still maintained to be a large part of my life.
I continued playing soccer until this year- a total of nine years. Soccer has shaped my life tremendously as it taught me about perseverance, hard work, communication, and teamwork, values which I hold close to my heart. Those values have brought me far in life--where I am today. They have allowed me to obtain three jobs, and numerous executive positions. One of them being named captain of the Girl's Varsity soccer team 2013-2014, one of my greatest achievements of my senior year. Soccer has also shaped my aspirations of becoming a Physical Therapist.
I am planning to attend UC Santa Barbara in the Fall-- the next stop in my roller coaster ride. I am not going to play soccer at a college level, but I am going to use what I learned from playing soccer for the rest of my life. I'm simply going to fasten my seat belt, and enjoy the ride.
