SOCCER!
My entire high school career consisted of stressful classes with stressful extracurricular activities. As a gift to myself for a job well done over the last three years, I decided to take it easy when it came to extracurricular activities. I told myself that senior year would be focused on me and my well-being, not looking desirable for colleges because that is what I did freshmen through junior year. I was quite miserable, actually. That is why I stuck to the only thing I have been involved at Mark Keppel that made me happy--soccer. Soccer has always been such a crucial part of my life growing up. I was so fortunate that it continued to be a part of my life through high school. It was an activity that allowed me to maintain my sanity and survive high school. That is why when I decided to let go of things that made me unhappy, soccer was the only thing I held onto. Honestly, it was the best choice I ever made. I fully committed myself to the one thing that brought me happiness. As a result, I achieved things I never thought was possible. I was named captain of the Girls' Varsity soccer team, and was honored to be a part of the first team in CIF. The season did not reflect our strength, skill, nor teamwork. Nonetheless, it was one of the best seasons I have ever played in my life. All thanks to my wonderful teammates I consider my sisters. (:
